Service Alert: Georgetown – Union Station Route for The African Leaders Summit

dc ciDC Circulator to detour Georgetown –  Union Station Route for the African Leaders Summit from December 12th  – 15th, 2022.

The African Leaders Summit will lead to road closures affecting the Georgetown – Union Station route. Critical segments of the route will be affected to accommodate the summit. Below please find the details for each detour. During the detours, buses will not be picking up passengers but only allowing for riders to offboard the bus at designated WMATA stops along the detour route.

Detour route from Union Station – Georgetown traveling west-bound:

DC Circulator buses will turn right at Massachuttes Avenue & 2nd  Street NW unto 2nd Street NW.

The bus will continue traveling on 2nd Street till it reaches  H Street NW, then turn left onto H Street NW. The bus will then travel on H Street till 4th Street, NW.

The bus will then turn left unto 4th Street, NW, across Massachusetts Avenue, NW, and veer right immediately back to H Street, NW.

From there, the bus service will continue to H Street NW until it reaches 11th Street NW and then turn right onto 11th Street NW to connect to K Street NW,  continuing regular westbound service to Georgetown.

Detour route from Georgetown – Union Station traveling east-bound:

DC Circulator buses will turn right on 11th Street NW, continuing to H Street, NW. The bus service will turn left onto H Street NW, continuing on H Street NW until it veers right to Massachuttes Avenue NW, and regular eastbound service to Union Station.

The following DC Circulator bus stops will not be served:

  • Massachusetts Avenue & 5th Street NW e/b & w/b
  • Massachusetts Avenue & 7th Street N e/b & w/b
  • New York Avenue & 9th Street NW e/b & w/b
  • K Street & 11th Street NW e/b only

 

Regular service will resume at all DC Circulator bus stops on Friday, December 16, 2022.
