2022 Comment Period and Meetings

DDOT has proposed two service changes for the DC Circulator service to be implemented in 2023. The service changes include the introduction of a new route servicing Ward 7 and bus stop consolidation along the Georgetown-Union Station (GT-US) route.

As of September 23, 2022 at 11:59pm, DDOT has concluded collecting written comments on the proposed changes.  Further details on the changes can be viewed below and can also be found in the final report of the 2020 TDP Update.

Proposed Route Realignments

  1. Proposed New Route: Ward 7 Route
    • New service connecting Deanwood Metro Station to Union Station via Benning Road, Stadium-Armory, and Union Station Metrorail Stations.
    • The new route will serve the following neighborhoods, Deanwood, Lincoln Heights, Capitol View, Benning, Hill East, Lincoln Park, and Capitol Hill.
    • This proposed route will provide access to grocery stores, shopping centers, schools, activity centers, hospitals, and Metrobus routes.

  1. Proposed Changes: Georgetown – Union Station (GT-US)
    • The proposed stop consolidation on this route will include two stops removed in Mount Vernon Square, two stops removed in Foggy Bottom, and five stops removed in Georgetown.
    • Stop consolidation on this route will improve productivity, running time, and reliability.
    • Specific stops to be removed include:

  2. 2. Eastbound and westbound stops at Wisconsin Avenue NW & P Street NW (2)
  3. 3. Eastbound stop at M Street NW & Thomas Jefferson Street NW (1)
  4. 4. Eastbound stop at Pennsylvania Avenue NW & 28th Street NW (1)
  5. 5. Westbound stop at 21st Street at K Street NW (1)
  6. 6. Eastbound stop at Pennsylvania Avenue NW & 21st Street NW (1)
  7. 7. Eastbound stop at K Street at 11th Street NW (1)
  8. 8. Eastbound and westbound stops at New York Avenue and 9th Street NW (2)
