Winter Wonder Bus Returns!

For the 5th year, DC Circulator’s Winter Wonder Bus has made its festive return to the District and for the 1st time ever, DC Streetcar is wrapped in a Winter Wonder theme as well! This year’s Winter Wonder Ride theme is, “Spreading Joy Around the District.” The exterior of the holiday rides are decorated with a multi-colored, pastel wrap featuring various animals participating in fun snow activities.

Winter Wonder Bus Whereabouts

Individuals and families are welcome to take a Winter Wonder Ride on DC Circulator and can track the holiday bus here:  

  • National Mall – 11/21 – 11/27 
  • Eastern Market-L’Enfant Plaza /National Mall – 11/28 – 12/3  
  • Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square – 12/4 – 12/10  
  • Rosslyn-Dupont Circle – 12/11 – 12/17  
  • Georgetown-Union Station – 12/18 – 12/24 
  • Congress Heights-Union Station Georgetown – 12/26 – 1/7 

The wrapped bus will serve the National Mall Route on weekends between November 27 and January 7.

Winter Wonder Ride 2022

Additionally, DC Circulator’s Winter Wonder Ride will be present at the following special events; including an interactive experience inside the bus for all ages. Event attendees will have the opportunity to win a limited edition Winter Wonder Ride mug, as well as DC Circulator and DC Streetcar swag. 

  • Jolly Jamboree Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm
    RISE Demonstration Center, 2730 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE 
  • Georgetown GLOW Friday, December 9, 2022 from, 6:00pm – 8:00pm, 1041 Wisconsin Ave NW 
  • Downtown DC Holiday Market – Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 12:00pm – 3:00pm, F Street NW between 7th and 9th Streets NW. Entrance is outside the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum. 

 

Photo Contest

Residents and visitors are encouraged to take photos of the Winter Wonder Rides and tag us @dcstreetcar or @dccirculator, with the hashtag #WinterWonderRideDC on social media. Ten lucky photo submissions will win a $25 Amazon gift card. 

 

Zoolights Shuttle

DC Circulator will also provide shuttle service from the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro station to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute during Zoolights. The shuttle will operate every 15 minutes from 5pm-9pm when Zoolights is in operation. The Winter Wonder Bus may make an appearance on certain dates – so keep an eye out. Normal DC Circulator ride fees apply. Free entry passes are required for ZooLights admission; see dates and times for Zoolights at https://nationalzoo.si.edu/events/zoolights.
