Service Alert: Service Changes for Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon

DC Circulator to Modify Service on Multiple Routes this Saturday, March 26, 2022, for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon course will run in key parts of the National Mall Route and Woodley Park-Adams Morgan route, and possible service impacts to Georgetown Union Station route.

The Marathon course will affect DC Circulator routes from opening until 2:00 p.m. Therefore, the following service changes will begin Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the start of service:

National Mall Route: Detour – Service will detour from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Independence Ave SW.

The following stops will not be severed:

  • Stop 9 Lincoln Memorial Circle SW
  • Stop 10 Constitution Avenue & 21st NW
  • Stop 11 Constitution Avenue & 18th NW
  • Stop 12 15th & Madison St. NW

 Woodley Park-Adams Morgan: Detour – Service will detour from 7:00 am. to 2:00 pm or once streets reopen to traffic after the conclusion of the marathon. The buses will connect from McPherson Square to 14th & U St NW.

DC Circulator buses will detour at W St NW, then turn right at 13th St. NW, then the buses will turn right at V St. NW, and from there the buses will turn left at 14th St NW returning to regular southbound service.

Buses will not travel to Adams Morgan and will not service the following stops (all stops north of Florida Ave):

  • Connecticut Ave NW / 24th St. NW
  • Adams Mill Rd. NW / Columbia Rd NW
  • Columbia Rd. NW / Ontario Rd. NW
  • Mt. Pleasant St NW / Irving St. NW
  • Irving St NW / 14th St. NW
  • Columbia Rd. NW / 14th St. NW
  • Columbia Rd. NW / between 15th & 16th St. NW
  • Columbia Rd. NW / Ontario Rd. NW
  • Adams Mill Rd. NW / Columbia Rd. NW
  • Connecticut Ave. NW / 24th St. NW

Once race activities have finished and streets reopen around 2:00 pm, the routes will begin normal service to all stops. Follow @dccirculator on Twitter for updates.
