DC Circulator Wants Your Family to Ride with Us!

DC Circulator proudly transports residents and families of DC while offering consistent service and great features. A lot of our features are family-friendly and make it easier to ride while your little ones are with you. While riding DC Circulator, your children can watch cartoons or play games on whatever device they’d like courtesy of our free Wi-Fi and USB chargers, giving you time to sneak in a few work emails. With family-style seating, you can keep your children close by and chat while you enjoy the ride.

Additionally, strollers are welcome on DC Circulator buses. Forget the struggle of lifting your stroller up to meet the bus steps; just request the operator lower the bus ramp to board easily with your kids in tow. Here at DC Circulator, we know your furry friends are an extension of your family. Pets are allowed to board DC Circulator buses in a crate or container specifically manufactured for the safe transport of animals.
On top of all that, DC students between K-12 can ride free on DC Circulator with their Kids Ride Free SmarTrip card.

3 Things You Should Know When Riding DC Circulator

1. DC Circulator operates on 10-minute headways. Layovers are necessary to maintain these headways and prevent buses on each route from traveling too closely to one another. Additionally, they allow our drivers to gain the rest they need to remain alert and operate the bus safely. If you see a bus stopped on the street check the digital reader to see if it’s in service or on one of these layovers.
2. If you have left an item on the bus, fill out our contact form, which can be found at
Find & Retrieve Lost Items. Please include the route you were on, time of day, and description of the item(s). We will try our best to locate the item and return it to you.
3. DC Circulator costs $1 to ride and customers are encouraged to pay for their fare with a SmarTrip card to receive discounts if transferring to or from another transit. Discounts are also available for seniors and students. Visit our
Fares & Payments page for more information.

Until Next Year, Winter Wonder Ride!

DC Circulator's Winter Wonder Ride made its comeback for the 5th year this past season, and for the first time ever, DC Streetcar was wrapped alongside DC Circulator in a festive, winter wrap as well.
